Livivg with Joy

Waz Up VUSD, Hey, does anyone ever think about what it means to live with JOY? some mistake Happiness for Joy. Happiness is only temporery usaully based on feelings, circumstances or emotions, so having a bad day? no happiness!. However Joy is something we enter when we embrace the word of God and follow His Son Jesus, so having a bad day?no problem there is Joy in the Lord.

Peace Out Chaplain Manny

Freshman Academy BBQ

We had a great BBQ for the new Freshman Academy students at Mt. Whitney. What was most incredible was to have 5 of last year’s academy students get up in front of 80 people and share how the Chaplains, Team Success, and Freshman Academy has impacted their lives. Great job everyone!! Chaplain Bruce

Surf’s UP

We had a great time at the beach! The weather was perfect, and Avila is just a great place to spend the day. We had students from Golden West, Mt. Whitney, El Diamante, La Sierra, and Tulare Union with us. It was a great way to say goodbye to the summer and look forward to a new school year.

Look us up at your school. Here are the days we are in Visalia Schools. Tuesday=Redwood, Wednesday=El Diamante, Thursday= Mt. Whitney, Friday=Golden West.

We are also in Dinuba, Orosi, Hanford, and soon to be Lemoore. I will let you know specific days soon.

Let us know how we can be praying for you and walking along side your joys and struggles.

Seeing With Eyes Wide Open

hello there!
this is jessica smith, and i’m blessed to be working for youth for christ for the second straight summer. one of the lessons that the Lord has been teaching, revealing, and mercifully reminding me of is to have my eyes wide open to see opportunities to share the love of Christ with the people that i interact with everyday. it’s so easy for me to wait for the “right” moment to speak or act on Christ’s behalf, but time and time again i realize that there never seems to be a “right” moment. what i’m really saying when i wait around is that i’m not fully convinced that what the Lord says in His Word and through His servants is true, and it’s really hard to share His Love with others if i don’t fully believe it myself. that’s when He graciously provides the needed refining that removes more of what is not of Him from my life and exposes other areas that are need of my surrender to His control. because of this refining, the eyes of my heart have been opened to see opportunities that arise to become a positive influence in the lives of the people in this community.
one of these opportunities is “sports night.” it takes place on thursday night at plaza park in downtown dinuba, and we are not only introduced to the kids that come but are also to get to know their parents as well. this provides kids with the opportunity to have some fun playing games, get to know other kids, hear about the Gospel, and enjoy free shaved ice. one night an entire family came, and we were blessed just getting to know them, serving them, and sharing with them. during the sharing time, one of the boys was convicted to apologize to his dad and mom, and it was just a blessing to see the Lord working in that small moment. these are the moments that make me smile knowing that my God cares so much for all those who are willing to humble themselves before Him.
there have been other opportunities for me to lend a listening ear, show a student that they are precious and important, or encourage others
